SUPPORT THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
I think of psychotherapy as getting an oil change for my car...it helps the car run better. Also, when it's done regularly, it can prevent a break down. Even after the breakdown occurs, it's important to process feelings and check in to where you are at emotionally. I can help with that, I am licensed in Massachusetts but because of my travel schedule, tele-counseling is encouraged unless you would like to see me in my Curacao office. Sessions can be bought ahead of time and scheduled via email or payment can be made in cash at the time of the session.
Nothing beats the face to face connection, but the world is changing and I want to change with it. If it's difficult for you to be connected with a counselor in your area, here's a few reasons you might consider talking to someone through a video chat portal or through texting:
-No need to figure out transportation
-Bad weather won't keep you from getting to your appointment
-No reason to deal with more people than you're ready to deal with
-Save time (and gas) on commuting
-You can talk from anywhere! In between meetings, classes, or even from your bed
COUNSELING FOR GRIEF, TRAUMA, & LOSS
Chances are, if you are reading this you have experienced some sort of loss. I would like to help you cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses that often come with loss. Although grief is more commonly thought to be brought on by a death, I believe grief has many faces, such as the ending of a relationship, the loss of a job, a diagnosis, or any event that is life altering.
Although well-meaning people often advice us to "be strong" when we are experiencing difficulties, I believe that you are entitled to whatever you're feeling and it's healthy to go through the process of grief, but you certainly don't have to do it alone.
